Red Bleeds the Name of the RoseFrom an early age, Ivaurault only knew the excess of a life within the closed walls of the Holy See of Ishgard. He is the second eldest of five children born to Lord Islaux and Lady Anriette Arscelais. Sworn to the Red Rose of Haillenarte, the House Arscelais boasted a sizeable mining and smithing operation that saw profits out in the western highlands of Coerthas; refining mithril ore for implementation in the creation of the arms and armaments of the Holy See's military capabilities.Service always came first for Ivaurault; his father would have it no other way and he was to follow in his brother's footsteps to join the ranks of the Heaven's Ward. Ivaurault formed lasting friendships and bonds of fellowships with his fellow academicians as he learned the arts of war, strategy, and faith that would forge him into a blade of the Enchiridion.However, scandal shook the very foundations of House Arscelais when Islaux did not return from a routine survey of the family's ore excavations. When the scouts fell upon the last known site of the Lord Arscelais, the camp was in ruins. Amongst the debris; a Dravanian rosary. At the behest of Lady Anriette, the rosary was confiscated; sealed away within the cellars of the family home until she could come to grips with the harsh truth of what had happened to her devoted husband.Ivaurault was thrown into a state of shock from the news; throwing himself headlong into the newly enkindled Dragonsong War that shook the foundations of the region; marked down in the annals of time by the entrance of the Warrior of Light.When aught was over and the Horde severed, the young lord journeyed into greater Eorzea; decreed by Lord de Borel as Ishgard once again sought to join the fold of the Eorzean Alliance, and looked for purpose elsewhere.Scandal threatened to see Lord Arscelais brought down to the bottom of a Witchdrop after he was framed for the murder of his mother. Faced with denoblement and execution, the former noble had been exonerated of the heinous crime. Justice was meted out to his brother, the once Lord Olvert Arscelais.He now finds himself, once again, head of his house that has aligned closely with his uncle within High House Dzemael. Sanctioned paramour of Baroness Xera de Arjerm, the noble lord continues to lead his house as well as provide all manner of security detail for the baroness; the latter being more of an enjoyment than the former.
